Video: Assemblyman Discusses Porn-Condom Bill at AHF Headquarters

LOS ANGELES — State Assemblyman Isadore Hall, the Democrat from Compton, Calif., who introduced AB 332, has disseminated a video of a speech he made yesterday at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's Los Angeles headquarters.

In the video, available here and on assemblyman's website, Hall explains his reasoning for introducing legislation to make condoms mandatory statewide.

He is flanked at the podium in the video with Michael Weinstein, president of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and Darren James, an HIV-positive former adult film actor who has taken the AHF's side in the porn-condom debate.

AB 332 is similar to Measure B, which was passed by Los Angeles County voters and requires the use of condoms while filming adult movies.

Born and raised in Compton, Hall, 41, was first elected to the state Assembly in November 2008, representing the 64th Assembly District that includes the communities of Carson, Compton, Gardena, Harbor Gateway, Lynwood, North Long Beach, Rancho Dominguez, South Los Angeles, Torrance, Watts and Wilmington.

Hall began his career of public service in 2001 when he was elected to the Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees.

He later was elected to the Compton City Council where he served in various leadership positions including Mayor Pro Tem.
